Tata Indicom Customer Service

In Oct ‘05 I got a broadband internet connection (prepaid) from Tata Indicom.Before that I was having a dial up connection(prepaid) from Tata Indicom with user ID vasanthu@eth.net. I was assured more than once by Tata Indicom Customer Service both over the phone and by e mail that my unutilised balance of nearly Rs 1000 in my dial up account would be carried forward to my new broadband account though my user ID will be changed to vasanthu@vsnl.net. But after I actually got the broadband connection they told me that my previous balance with eth.net ID cannot be carried forward. Inspite of my sending several e mails to Tata Indicom Customer service drawing their attention to their earlier assurances, I am getting only expressions of regret and vague assurances that my concern is being looked into by their resolution team. Till date nothing has been done to settle my complaint and no final reply has been given.In the meantime my attempts to utilise the previous balance with eth.net id to download music is also not bearing fruit as whenever I try to log in using my eth.net id I get an error message “invalid user name” though the download site has provision for using eth.net id. My complaints in this regard also have elicited no response.S.Gurumurthy

experience with TATA Indicom broadband

My experience with TATA Indicom broadband has been great. I have been using it since one and half month and I stay online for more than 14 hrs a day. And till date the line has never been down. No disconnections; one click connectivity and speed is just amazing.I use 64 Kbps unlimited connection and get a great transfer rate of 15KBps download and 16KBps as upload. Its simply great. I dont know how you guys have problems with it.

Can any one suggest how to use in Airtel Broadband connection.?

The modem recognises the connection and shows the "connect speed" but unable to regster though I have a user name and
password

unprofessional service

tata indicom is giving very unprofessional service.I booked a connection on 7th July.Cheque of Rs 1513/= was collected by co.
within 2 days.Because of non-availaibility of connection,i cancelled my request and asked for refund on 15th September.But
till today they have not refunded the amount . I have wasted so many telephone calls and time on them.Is anyone from
TataIndicon listening??? Isn't this height of unprofessionalism. Why should customers not approach Consumer Courts

new connection of TATA

I have a complaint to you .i got a new connection of TATA,sadly i told i cant get the range ,we also have your tower near but we can"t get the range ,i am so worry about it,my more friends want to take the new connection of TATA. this problem will continius itold my friends dont be cheated to buy TATA.

My wife and I are British Citizens currently in Bangalore. On the 5th of October I paid Rs. 1516 to Tata Indicom for a Broadband Package (ref: 239258 and application number 1476976). They had previously informed me that the fee for installation would be Rs 1516. I told them I needed the connection by the 12th and they assured me it would not be a problem.
On the 10th I called to find out what the progress was and I was informed by Mr Vikas Suksena at Medallions (Tata Indicom contractors) that I would have to pay an additional amount of a few thousand Rupees to get the connection and that I would have to wait a few more weeks as well. I informed them that in light of this new development I was unhappy with the way they were doing business (i.e. quoting one rate and then asking the customer to pay additional amounts, agreeing one date and then changing this after receiving payment) and asked them to cancel my Broadband Request and issue me a refund.
On the 11th I received a cheque from VSNL Bangalore - for Rs 1516 but this was an account payee cheque and it was NOT made out to myself (as you would expect) but to themselves - i.e. VSNL Bangalore.
I have since called them nearly every other day and keep getting told that they are processing the refund and that a replacement cheque would be issued. It is now over 1 month since in cancelled to connection and we are still awaiting the refund.
I cannot believe that a company as big as Tata Indicom is carrying out its business activities in such an unethical manner - and that they are so slow to resolve simple matters - especially when it involves giving back money that they are not legally entitled to.

The walky telephone number was installed at my homeunder the instructions of Ms madhuri[09223416090] who is partof your
customer service. The person who came to install the phone verified my address; he took copy of my electricity bill, copy
of my pan number. I have been using the Internet services from the day it was installed and suddenly you discontinue the
services saying my installation address is somewhere in Delhi. Please let me know how did my installation addresschange?
Who authorised to change it? Who is inconnivance with whom?.



The least I expected a brand known as TATA ever would harass a customer so much. The so-called installation addressis not
mine. Its your organization which has fabricated illegally that address and you have the audacity to state that I need to
give a written request for change of address. I would like to state it clearly that I am in no way going to be part of
your illegal activity.



If you donâ??t want to provide the services I might as well go to another service provider.I will proceed with criminal
proceeding against your organization for wilfully and illegally using my name.



Its no surprise why Mr Ratan Tata has to take over as a chairman of your own organization. Such is the sorry state of
affairs.

SirThis is in ref to my phone no 9212604416from which I am unable to make 121 calls to customer care from last 2 weeks.I had put up almost 10 complaints regarding that but to my surprise till today the problem has not been sorted out from your end.

This is an act of high inefficiency which shows the casual attitude of Tata to customers who are holding connections from atleast 5 years. Sir I think some immediate action will be taken from your side to rectify the problem at the earliestThanking youyours sincerely

Sub: Harassment & undue charges

SirThis is in reference to my phone number 9212011402. This is a Nokia handset model number-6385. From 20th oct 2005 this handset has been showing a no service sign because of changing of some software or PRL number from your side. I took this handset to the bright point , which has put up an estimate of Rs 700 for up grading the software. I have the number of few other people who are using the same handset and are facing the same problem from the very same date. I also went to your customer care centre located at Okhla new delhi and met Mr. Pankaj Pandey who is working as the floor in charge, his phone number-9212502873. the person was very uncooperative and he kept on taking the side of the bright point without giving due consideration to this thing that I had brought the other person with me a who has been facing the same problem.Sir I had been a customer of Tata from last five years with almost 8 connections on my and my family members name. I had convinced many people to take up Tata connection for its honest and sincere Services.but to my utter surprise when this kind of cheating is taking place right under you nose, I’m very sorry to say that I’m losing faith in Tata.

I hope some strong measures will be taken from your side to not only to stop such cheating and harassment of some honest customer’s like me. I’m also sending a copy of this letter to TRAI in order to look into the matter and stop such kind of harassment of ordinary customers.
