Here is another victim of Tata Indicom. With lots of excitement and expectations, I have applied for DSL connection. I was told that the connection will be given in week's time but it took 10 days with my rigorous follow-up. The speed was good initially but I lost connection several times with the server. Whenever I lost I used to call customer support and I had to wait till the next morning. I was using this mostly in the nights and whenever there was a problem I had to loose that night. Finally I decided to withdraw the services from Tata Indicom and submitted my written request to them. They wanted the modem to be returned at their office to get my deposit amount back. (While installation they come with the modem and install but when we withdraw we have to go their office and submit the modem. What a respect they have with the unsubscribed customers!!!!) I have submitted the modem 2 months back and deposit amount is not yet refunded. I have requested them to remove the cables laid to my house. As usual no response.

I have made plenty of requests to Tata Indicom over phone and through mails but did not get the work done by them. I am really frustrated with their negligence and decided to proceed legally. I never expected this kind of service from a group like TATA. I strongly suggest that NO ONE SHOULD GO TO TATA INDICOM FOR BROADBAND connection. DATAONE is the best for home users but they do not have hourly packages or unlimited packages.

Tata Indicom Broadband

I got my dial-up account converted to Tata Indicom Broadband during last week of February this year. I opted for Always-On Connection and around Rs 1000 balance in my dial-up account was converted to Broadband account. In addition I was advised by Tata Indicom to subscribe for Auto renewal pack Surf 500 (costing Rs. 375 ) which would get activated on May 8 2006, on expiry of the Always-On pack.
From March 20th onwards the broadband service was very erratic, and I lodged 4 complaints with the customer cell. From March 30 onwards I was not able to connect at all till May 7 (38 days !), when the Always -On Pack expired. Always-On pack charges a flat rate of Rs. 15/day irrespective of the usage of broadband. I had been assured by the Customer service that I will not be charged from the day of the last complaint (i.e. March 30) till the expiry of the pack or till the connection is set right whichever earlier.
However despite several reminders to customer care, my account has not been credited for the value of the amoumt lost for 38 days.
Tata Indicom rectified what they called was a cable fault and I was able to connect for 2 -3 days starting May 8 using the auto renewal pack Surf 500 which debits the amount based on uploads/downloads. The problem of non-access resurfaced again on May 10 and persisted till May 23. Again after repeated reminders VSNL engineers set it right. However I now find that though my net usage is only for Rs 37/- as of today, I find that the balance remaining in my account is just Rs 138 instead of Rs 338 /- ( a discrepancy of Rs 200 /- !)
Inspite of my repeated reminders both vial e-mails and phone calls to Customer care, the reimbursement of 38 days of Always-ON account and the recitification of billing discrepancy on Surf500 account has not been done.

i would like to say TATA indicom SUCKS

I have been using Tata indicom broadband for the last 4 months, and I am sure it has to be one of the worst providers of internet. It is not the worst, I am afraid to think of the implications, because it means here in india, we are doomed to experience sucky internet all the days of our lives. I’m considering switching to Airtel and would appreciate it if some one who has used both can tell me objectively if airtel is much better than tata indicom.
I am especially interested to know Airtel’s response incase there is a no-browsing problem. In case of Tata, I had to call every single day for 2 weeks, to get them to finally come and fix the problem. at a minimum of 25 rupees a call, i paid more per day for calls to customer care than i did for the broadband, which is billed at 16 rupees per day.
For all those people out there i would like to say TATA indicom SUCKS

Tata broadband service is horrendous to say the least

Tata broadband service is horrendous to say the least. Their franchises are least bothered about installations but are extremely quick in collecting money. Avoid it at any cost. Am looking for an avenue to complaint to Ratan Tata himself hoping that at least he will take note of this. But rest of the guys are jokers and need to be sacked.

I tried all my level best to get the same or get my monet back…. but these people are so Ugly & Dirty that they are not ready to talk… I booked complain so many times…

I took 128 infinity Tatabroadband connection

I took 128 infinity Tatabroadband connection, i am running internet cafe on this connection. Now 250 infinity also avilable in the market this is the reason i requested them to change my bandwidth 128 to 256.
every time i make a call to cust care they are giving request numbers,if i raise my voice then they are giving complaint numbers but still i din’t get 256 bandwidth, not only this if any problem is from their side when i rang up cust care exec are giving response like sir i think you need to delete your cookies and check your lan cable like this response.

could anyone kindly tell me whether there are area restrictions within a district/city on the ISP?
i have used the tata indicom broadband and find it satisfactory.
but this new connection i m looking for is for my corporate office and would be used by 15-25 users.

signed up with Tata broadband on the 12th of May

Hi all
I just got a new computer and signed up with Tata broadband on the 12th of May. The sales guy told me that the connection will be provided by 5 days. And guess what?…Its the 22nd of May and i still havent got the connection. So i call up thier customer service and the executive tells me you havent paid for the service till now. When i provide the reciept number to the executive he tells me that he apologizes for 5 times and he will take care of it….lol…give me a break…wat should i do?….sue them????…jezz i dont know:(

I have taken 64 kbps unlimited offer on 1st April from tataindicombroadband . Last 7 days internet is not working in my home. I am totally disgusted with the service . I am not expecting this type of bad service from vsnl and expecting a speedy action on this matter.
Last friday and also monday i have sent a mail to customercare about my complaint of internet connection. yesterday and today also i have informed to customercare through phone about my complaint. Till now i didn’t get any phone call and also any mail from your customercare executive about my complaint. At the connection time tataindicom customercare excutive told me that they will provide the service within 24 hours but till now i didn’t get any service.
I don’t understand tataindicom is providing this type of bad service.
Still now I am not able to understabd what is the meaning of 64 kbps unlimited offer ?

Never Ever Take Tata BroadBand Connection…

I was using ICENET ISP’s cable connection and decided to switch to TATA Broadband connection. So i called up it’s sales representative(Name: DHRUMIL). I took 64 kbps unlimited plan and paid 3143 rs. I told him to install connection on 12th but nothing happens on that day. I called him and service center many times. Then and then they came and install the plan. But then one more thing happens. They installed 256kbps limited plan. I have done complain on this on VSNL on 13th May. But till date ( 22nd May) nothing happens. Today they are asking me to give written paper on this . It is not my fault and still i have to pay for it. Pay for money and pay for worst service.

Now, regarding internet connection, speed is ok but connection breaks at anytime. On saturday it breaks, i phoned him but nothing happens. Then i called on sunday and they told sunday is holiday. I called sales representative but he told me that i am sales person. So do his job completed once he sold the connection? i don’t think so. Whenever i asked him something, he told me i am doing this and i will talk to this in meeting and like this.

When net is down, tata’s engineer(Tilak) come on monday and after checking something he(Tilak) told me that your lan card is not working. So you need to buy another one. But before buying new, i check it with icenet connection and it’s working. Why the hell he is telling that lan card is not working without confirming. If i am not software engineer, this people will tear out my shirt.

Now, next thing. Tata’s great customer service center number. When you call his customer service center auto reply told you “Thank you for waiting” and it makes you waiting till 5 to 10 minutes on your call. Upto now i make a call of 50 rs and don’t know how many i will make untill 6 month. ( I bought 6 month pack without thinking and asking to anybody)

The conclusion is, never never never take tata indicom broadband. Worst connection. Worst sales representative. Worst engineer. and Worst Customer service.

deeply anguished by services of TATA INDICOM

I too am a person who has been deeply anguished by services of TATA INDICOM and been trying to get a mail id of Ratan Tata or anyone else (like his PA) who can seek 2 mts of his time to read my complaint to him. I’d not like to add on to the mails given above as I have undergone almost all the service problems mentioned there. Hope someone in Tata Sons notices this. The sad thing is I have been more anguished by the fact that a well known brand like TATA that has exhuded confidence, belief and happiness for so many people for so many years is now being spoilt by people working for the group. These are more painful for me as a lot of senior members of my family have at some point or the other worked with TISCO & TELCO and have been proud of it. In fact even I have grown up being prowd of this. But today I have personally seen others in three parts of the country - Delhi Mumbai and Cochin speaking in disgusting tones about the brand. This removed the self assurance that I had given myself that delhi could be an isolated incidence. If anybody responsible and very highly placed in Tatasons sees this, I request you to respond or even send me a contact (direct or indirect) so that I could present my case without washing dirty linen in public. Please do not respond if you are even at the top level of mid-management as i have experienced these at higher levels in the company. I believe today that i the only person/s who could really be concerned about the brand TATA are either the family itself or the stakeholders sitting at the topmost levels and professionally active in the group.

My tata indicom connection is not working for last 1.5 months

My tata indicom connection is not working for last 1.5 months. I have raised several complaints but in vain. First thing the ccare exec will try is not to give you any complaint number. When you call after 1 week your complaint is not registered and now if you stress on complaint number your complaint will be considered from this new date.
One of the ccare executive told me, ‘I am not raising your complaint. Do what ever you can and I challange you no body can harm us becuase we are government employees!’ And also told me that they are taught to say this to customer by there management so that the customer doesn’t call up again for his refunds etc.

Well, I’m using Tata Indicom DSL for the past 6 months. Contrary to all the negative press one hears, my experience has been nothing short of outstanding. I have a 512 kbps and the download speed is always at 55 kBps or better (through bittorrent). Possibly, because Tata controls most of the international bandwidth
The one thing that sucks though is that they do not offer an electronic payment option. They only send the bill by email, but I have to post the cheque to them each month!!!

I have taken up the BSNL 250/month plan

Hi,
I have taken up the BSNL 250/month plan.They just give me 400MB of both upload/download.Could anyone please tell me how to keep track of this information and also HOW much MB does an average surfer use per day? Does anyone have any idea?
It would be helpful.Thankyou.
